The talk is based on the best selling book Low Municipality- Reflections of the Past which describes 1895 Tax Revolt of Low (Battle of Brennan's Hill), the arrival of the Gatineau Valley Railroad to the Municipality of Low in 1892, and the monumental task of building the Paugan Falls Hydro Electric Project from 1927-29.

January, 2017

Following the June 2016 reprint of my book, I once again received enough further requests for book orders that I plan to do a third print. The anticipated date for the next print will be be in the Fall of 2017 with orders

- Upon receipt of book orders, information will be returned to you concerning the cost and delivery details. A local Ottawa/Gatineau location will be accommodated for pickup. For those requiring postal delivery, mailing costs will be provided. There are no plans at this time to make additions to the book since it is quite large and will not accommodate additional pages. There will, however, be some minor edits made to a reprint version of the book.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Please note that I am still gladly accepting any additional photos which reflect Low Municipality's rich heritage even though I am unable to include them in the reprint versions of the book. My plan is to create a web site which will be regularly updated to capture and preserve a bank of images from Low's past. Photos depicting the township's history, whether they be of individuals, groups, landscapes, businesses, or story related topics which took place prior to 1950, are of interest. The hope is that this bank of information would be of great value to potential future writers of heritage related material.

Any images which you would like to share on the soon-to-be created web site can be sent to lowquebecbook@gmail.com in JPEG or TIFF format at high resolution and include the names, dates, location, and other relevant details wherever possible. Information on the web address site are to follow.

Once again, thank you so much for your support and interest shown in "Low Municipality – Reflections of the Past"!

Of special interest to many readers will be the inclusion of hundreds of individual and group photos of people and places throughout the communities of Low, Venosta, Fieldville, Brennan’s Hill and the Manitou. Photos range mostly from the 1880's to the post WW II era. Low Municipality – Reflections of the Past” is a rather large book (close to 600 pages), and is printed as a soft cover perfect binding including hundreds of black and white pictures and over 20 colour pages.

The book has been a “work in progress” for close to ten years. “Low Municipality – Reflections of the Past” looks at the many aspects of Low Township. It includes an historical account of the earliest days of Low's inception and how it progressed to an established municipality within the Gatineau.

The interest shown in the book has been beyond our expectations and the requests for copies continued. It has been an amazing experience for myself (Donnie Kealey), and my partner in writing, Lise St.Jean.

on Sunday, December 13, at Brennan's Hill Hotel. Both proved to be memorable events, where people not only had a chance to pick up their own copy of the book, but also afforded them the opportunity to meet several friends, many of whom they had not met for some time. December 6, 2015 at Low Heritage Hall, Low, Quebec. A second, a week later, Two very successful initial book release events occurred. The first took place on
